Camp Nanowrimo- July 31st- Finished

Wow, I can't believe that the entire month of July has gone by and I have something to show for it. I want to post so many times on here, but I needed to focus  when I had my free time. It was well worth it.

Here's a little low down on what I have written. My story has two physical settings called the Surface and the Grotto, the Surface is where all the humans magical or not live while the Grotto has all the mystical beings and imprisoned evil creatures. It will also take place in two time settings so far, 17 years apart from each other.

Each of the 5 enchanters live on the outskirts of the land. It is the Enchanter's job on the surface to maintain their Mystical Gem which is the entity of a Mistress who sends mystical energy into the center of their land towards the Prime Tree. This Prime Tree then sends that energy down into the underground Grotto like the sun does for the surface so all the mystical creatures can survive in what seems to be self exile. The Prime Tree along with the 5 gems are the final seal to all the prisons which they put all of the evil creatures and entities during a time called the Great Divide. This story takes place almost 1,000 years after the Great Divide.

The Great Divide was a massive undertaking by the leaders of the mystical creatures and the leading enchanters of the time to separate humans from the creatures. Humans were the newest of races and therefore taken advantage of by the dark creatures. Humans have two vices, one of them being they are gullible to following their emotions instead of logic which lead to many a human being deceived into using their magical power for reasons other then their own. Being so powerful, they were put onto the surface to protect everyone underneath. 

The enchanters train many humans over the years of all magical abilities. The humans with magical abilities eventually are sent to the Grotto to work on farms, mines, or other places. The mystical creatures also train them to use their abilities and many go back to the surface. Some never do.

What would happen if for the first time in almost 1,000 years, one of the enchanter's apprentices were denied access to the Grotto? What if there were a scheme to disconnect all of the gems and finally the Prime Tree to free all the evil entities?

This is the basis for my story. I really like it and hope one day it will be finished and worthy to give enjoyment to all.
